What is 'pure' cosmetics?

Pure cosmetics is for INDISHA:

  • Cosmetics without ingredients harmful to humans or the environment.
  • Products with the highest possible content of organic, biodynamic or 'wild' picked ingredients.
  • Cosmetics that are preferably packaged in sustainable packaging material.
  • Cosmetics that, where relevant and possible, use fair trade ingredients.

Why don't all products at INDISHA have an organic label?

  • For a number of brands at INDISHA, an organic label does not go far enough. A product with an organic label may still use up to 5% synthetic preservative.
  • For example, Dr. Alkaitis and Dr. Baumann have succeeded in making effective and sustainable products without synthetic preservatives. This is not easy! From Dr Alkaitis, all ingredients are organically certified or 'hand crafted' - from untouched nature.
  • It is also possible that an organic quality mark is still too expensive for a smaller producer. At INDISHA we always check the reliability and integrity of a producer. And only work with a producer if its products meet our strict purity requirements.
  • For example, Dead Sea salt, another salt or mineral powder foundation never gets an organic label, because salt or mineral powder is a 'wild crafted' ingredient - from untouched nature. So not organically grown.

What does the name INDISHA stand for?

    • INDISHA is a combination of the names of the two daughters of the founder of INDISHA; Indiara (2006) and Aisha (2008).
    • With INDISHA, the founder wants to contribute to making pure cosmetics more accessible. By the time her daughters start buying cosmetics themselves, the choice for pure products should be self-evident.
